Design Exploration

As part of a university module, I explored designs for branded company products, in fields that the company would otherwise not manufacture.

Selecting Bandcamp as my company of choice, I compiled a style guide and designed a vertical standing vinyl player.

Procedurally Generated Lamp

During this university project, I put together a program using Rhino's Grasshopper, which will randomly generate a topologically functional and 3D-printer ready lamp decoration.

The entire process is handled by Grasshopper, which allows for minimal human interaction.

An actual exported example of a finished lamp.
The "root" structure is thinner and allows for a light strip to glow from inside.

2D Animation

I was a background animatior on Graham Kartna's latest music video(s) for the album World of Dweebs.

This composed of both traditional animation, as well as the implementation of 3D software to better achieve good rotoscoping effects.

Builds

These environment builds were completed for UWE Bristol, to be used in an interactive geography VR experience, and were optimised for a smooth, low-impact experience for the user.

Environments were surveyed in person, texture samples were collected, and then the environment was rebuilt in Blender using the reference images and using the collected materials. In total, 6 low-poly rooms were constructed.

Product Exploration

This project was part of a university module where I worked with an existing company to adapt their product to new markets.

As part of a team of 5, I helped research, refine, create and animate a redesign of the Awarri Mekamon, a quarupedal walking robot made for education. This redesign would help facilitate disaster relief efforts through communications and power generation means.

As part of the project, I narrowed down the scope to disaster relief, and focused research on attainable goals we could acheive within out 5-weeks schedule.

Additionally, I designed, rigged and animated the bigger "Alpha" robot for the final presentation.

Tabletop Project

A culmination of two university modules, I am developing a program to assist TTRPG Game Masters in developing their play sessions, using software to assist in battle planning and narrative tracking.

After constructing a working prototype using Grasshopper, I am currently working on developing the software into a fully standalone application inside of Unity.

Illustration and Graphic Design

Both in university and in my free time, I do illustration and commissions.

Product Design

Being a product design technology student, I have completed projects with considerations for manufacture.

This project was part of a university module that aimed to carefully examine and produce a radio that may be easily manufactured.

My re-design gave it focus as part of a desk organiser. It could store stationery, hold small items, play music and act as a desklamp.
